Witold Szczypiński, MSc (Eng), Vice President of the Management Board

Appointed Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. on January 9th 2015. On the Management Board, he is responsible for integration of production, the Agro Segment and the Plastics Segment.
Witold Szczypiński graduated from the Faculty of Production Organisation and Industry Management of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. He started working forZakłady Azotowe w Tarnowie-Mościcach S.A. (currently Grupa Azoty S.A.) in 1979. Since 1999, he has been a senior executive of the Company, including Vice President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer since 2015. He co-authored the restructuring plan for the Company in 1999, the remedial plan for 2002–2007, the development plan for 2002–2007, the growth strategy for 2008–2012, and the plan to acquire Unylon GmbH (2010). He served on the Supervisory Boards of: Przedsiębiorstwo Innowacyjno-Wdrożeniowe UNISIL Sp. z o.o. (1997–1999), Tarnowskie Wodociągi Sp. z o.o. (2007–2008), Biuro Projektów Zakładów Azotowych BIPROZAT Sp. z o.o. and PKCh Sp. z o.o. (2008–1016), ATT Polymers GmbH (2011–2013), Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A. (2012–2016), Grupa Azoty Kopalnie i Zakłady Chemiczne Siarki Siarkopol S.A. (2013–2016). Currently, Witold Szczypiński represents Grupa Azoty S.A. on the Supervisory Board of ATT Polymers GmbH. From 2007 to 2010, he was President of the Management Board of SITPChem, Tarnów Branch. He was a member of the Scientific Board of the Blachownia Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis of Kędzierzyn-Koźle (2011–2015), a member of the Chemical and Process Engineering Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2011−2016), and a member of the Steering Committee of the ‘Advanced energy production technologies’, a strategic research and development programme of the National Centre for Research and Development (2012−2015). Witold Szczypiński is the author or co-author of nearly 40 implemented specialist improvement concepts (including six patent protected) for the manufacturing of ammonia, hydrogen, food-grade carbon dioxide, polyoxymethylene, polycrystalline silicon and catalysts; and for energy infrastructure.
