Nitrogenous fertilizer, readily soluble in water, alcohols and liquid ammonia. It takes the form of white uniform granules (grain class 1-3 mm, with at least 90% of the granules covered with anti-caking agents). mocznik.pl is a hygroscopic fertilizer. Bulk density: 0.70-0.78 kg/dm3.
Urea includes 46% of nitrogen (N) in amide form, easily absorbed by the leaves of plants. Absorption through the root system is slower, because urea in soil is converted (as a result of enzymatic hydrolysis) into the ammonia form available for plants, and then into nitrate form.
Intended use and application
mocznik.pl is a very universal fertilizer for foliar nutrition, above all for soil fertilization. It may be used for all cultivated plants, prior to sowing and for top dressing, and for leaf spray in a water solution of a concentration corresponding to the requirements of the species fed and the growth stage of the plant. In very acid, strongly alkaline or freshly limed soils, its effect is less pronounced.
Urea must not be mixed with other nitrogenous fertilizers. Owing to its hygroscopicity, it may be mixed just before spreading with POLIDAP®, POLIFOSKA®, POLIMAG® S, potash salt and the only nitrogenous fertilizer, ammonium sulphate.
Nitrogen from urea is released to plants uniformly, thus there is no excess storage of harmful nitrates in either the plant or groundwater. Losses of nitrogen from the soil are low. The ammonia form resulting from hydrolysis contributes to the harmonious growth and development of plants, supports intake of phosphorus and limits excess intake of potassium. This form of nitrogen brings about good rooting and proper development of plants from the postemergence period, increases their strength and, above all, contributes to high yield of good biological value. Urea guarantees a safe content of harmful nitrates in feeds and in vegetables and fruits.
Packaging and transport
mocznik.pl is packaged into:
- 50 kg ± 1% polyethylene bags with overprint;
- Flexible containers at 500 kg ± 1% or more, the so-called big-bags.
The fertilizer must be transported while protected against water, rainfall, direct sunlight and damage to the packaging.
Urea is not classified, i.e. it is not considered a hazardous material according to the UN Orange Book and international transport codes, for example RID (railway transport), ADR (road transport) and IMDG (sea transport).
With regard to transportation using the road vehicles of the recipient or of a carrier acting on the direct instructions of the recipient, it is the recipient or the carrier who is responsible for any deterioration in the quality of the fertilizer.
Polyethylene bags with overprint of a net content of 50 kg should be stored in 10 layers at the most. Flexible containers of less than 500 kg in weight may be stored in piles of up to three layers, or in piles of two layers if weight exceeds 500 kg. In the case of pallet storage, loading units of up to 0.9 m in height are stored in piles of four layers, and loading units of 0.9 m to 1.8 m in height in piles of not more than 3.6 m.
The fertilizer should be stored in clean and dry warehouse buildings and protected against atmospheric conditions (solar radiation, rainwater).
In the course of transportation, handling and storage, the regulations in force should be observed.
In the event of irritation of skin and eyes, wash with plenty of water. Dust masks and safety goggles are recommended. If swallowed accidentally, seek medical advice. Nontoxic, odourless, non-flammable fertilizer.
