Product description

Polyamide 6 (PA 6) tubes are monolayer tubes produced by extrusion and vacuum calibration.
Polyamide 6 tubes are available in natural milk-white semitransparent colour and coloured in all primary colours. It is also possible to supply tubes with improved sliding properties with the addition of molybdenum disulfide or graphite.

The main characteristics of polyamide 6 tubes include:

  • high mechanical strength,
  • hardness and resistance to impact, wear and scratches,
  • broad thermal useful range between -600C and 130 0C,
  • low friction coefficient,
  • good electrical insulation properties,
  • high chemical resistance, especially to hydrocarbons, oils, lubricants and fuel components.

Applications and use

Polyamide 6 tubes are used as coating in steering cables in vehicles, including as coating lines in power window mechanisms. They may be used as pressure hoses in steering and pneumatic systems, as compressed air hoses in pneumatic tools, in vacuum systems, in lubrication systems and for transporting fluids, including drinking water and other beverages.

Packing and transport:

  • coils – tubes are formed into coils approx. 1 m in diameter; the coils are wrapped in tape to protect against damage during transport and storage; maximum 2 sections of tubing per coil,
  • bundles – polyamide tubes may be bundled when cut into sections approx. 4 m in length and wrapped in plastic foil or cardboard boxes.
Other methods of packaging tube coils and bundles are available upon agreement between producer and customer.

Tubing coils and bundles may be stacked in loading units on pallets up to 1 m in height and wrapped in stretch foil.

Polyamide tubes should be transported by covered means of transport according to rail and road freight regulations. Coils or bundles may be stacked during transport, or on pallets max. 1 m in height. Stacking of pallets is not allowed. Transport conditions should prevent exposure to damage, moisture and pollution of the product.
Polyamide tubes are not a hazardous product according to ADR, RID and IMDG regulations.

Polyamide tubes should be stored in clean and dry rooms at room temperature, minimum 1 m away from working heating appliances. Open air storage is also allowed if protected from direct exposure to the sun. Coils or bundles may be stacked during transport, or on pallets max. 1 m in height. Stacking of pallets is not allowed.
