On June 21st 2017, Grupa Azoty S.A. and its subsidiaries entered into gas supply contracts with Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A.
Grupa Azoty is the Main Partner of the 4th Polish Chemical Industry Congress held by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry at the Cultural and Congress Centre Jordanki in Toruń, Poland, on June 7th and June 8th.
On June 2nd–June 4th 2017, the Polish Association of Retail Investors held the 21st WallStreet investor conference at Hotel Gołębiewski in Karpacz, Poland. With a few hundred attendees, the event is the largest meeting of retail investors in Central Europe. Grupa Azoty participated in it for the tenth time.
Grupa Azoty is engaged in supporting the promotion of a DNA lab-on-a-chip project developed by NEXBIO Sp. z o.o., a start-up based in Lublin.
Grupa Azoty is about to launch a pilot programme designed to use satellite observations to inform farmers about changes in the condition of their crops. The app will also enable direct communication with a precision spreader, management of soil water resources, and even crop yield forecasting. The programme is being implemented under a contract signed by Grupa Azoty with SatAgro, a Polish start-up company.
Grupa Azoty will be presenting two of its production segments − plastics and OXO − at the 21st International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing PLASTPOL, taking place in Kielce from May 23rd to May 26th. Visitors to its exhibition stand will also have an opportunity to meet some of the athletes competing under the Grupa Azoty banner.
In the first quarter of 2017, the Grupa Azoty Group recorded consolidated revenue of PLN 2.69bn, up over PLN 200m (9%) year on year, with EBITDA in excess of PLN 447m and net profit of PLN 250m. The Company also updated the 2013–2020 strategy.
In 2016, the Grupa Azoty Group earned revenue of nearly PLN 9bn, reporting EBITDA of more than PLN 1bn with EBITDA margin of 11.2%, and net profit of PLN 375m with net profit margin of 4.2%.
Grupa Azoty Puławy has purchased a nitric acid production technology from thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG.
Grupa Azoty has joined forces with TAURON on a project to construct a coal gasification unit for chemical production. A letter of intent was signed by the parties in Warsaw on April 20th 2017.
The Grupa Azoty Council has concluded its meeting devoted to analysing the progress of intra-group integration in individual business segments. The Management Boards and representatives of the Supervisory Boards of the Group companies based in Tarnów, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Police and Puławy discussed the strategic development directions for the Grupa Azoty Group as the consolidated leader of the Polish chemical sector.
On March 16th 2017, Grupa Azoty S.A. and Grupa Azoty Police published their estimated key consolidated financial results for 2016.
Tuesday, February 28th 2016, saw an official handover of laboratory equipment to the Technical School Complex of Tarnów-Mościce. The event marked the end of the process of Grupa Azoty setting up a laboratory for the school, where chemical technology students will be improving their skills in order to join the Tarnów workforce of Grupa Azoty in the future.
On February 3rd 2016, vacancies were filled and changes made in the Presidium of the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry. Wojciech Wardacki, President of the Management Boards of Grupa Azoty S.A. and Grupa Azoty Police, was appointed new Chairman of the Board.
For the sixth time, the Catalysts Business Unit of Grupa Azoty S.A. will take part as an exhibitor at the international ‘Nitrogen&Syngas’ conference, this year held from February 27th to March 2nd in London.
On December 16th 2016, Friday, the Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. appointed Mr Wojciech Wardacki, DSc(Econ), as President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. At the same meeting, the Supervisory Board removed the previous President Mariusz Bober.   
Both resolutions, i.e. the resolution appointing the new President and the resolution removing the previous one, took effect on the date they were adopted. The previous President held the office for less than ten months starting from last February.

On December 14th, the list of stocks included in the tenth edition of the RESPECT Index was announced in the Listing Room of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. This year, the index included a record number of twenty five companies. It is Grupa Azoty S.A.’s enormous success to find itself among the eight companies that have been continuously included in the index since its launch in 2009.
The first Capital Market Forum was held on November 25th. The event took place at the Warsaw Stock Exchange and attracted over 300 investors, representatives of companies and speakers. Grupa Azoty was also present to collect the Business Sharks award. 
The conference, organised by inwestorzy.tv, was an occasion to meet and exchange experiences with investors, listed companies, business people and institutions associated with the Polish and foreign financial markets. The main partners of the event included WSE-listed Pfleiderer Group, Immobile Group and ABC Data.
Air Products and Grupa Azoty ZAK sign new contract for the supply of industrial gases
On November 23rd, Air Products, one of the largest suppliers of industrial gases in Poland, and Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A. of the Grupa Azoty Group, the second largest manufacturer of mineral fertilizers in the European Union, signed a long-term oxygen and nitrogen supply contract. Valid until the end of 2035, the contract is a continuation of the companies’ cooperation, dating back to 1997. By signing the contract, Air Products strengthens its position of a leading supplier of industrial gases for the key branches of Polish industry. 
The fifth edition of the ‘CHEMICAL INDUSTRY SUMMIT & AWARDS GALA’, an event organised by Executive Club in cooperation with PWC Polska, was held on November 21st 2016. Grupa Azoty became the main partner of the conference, which ended with the Diamonds of the Polish Chemical Industry Gala. The event was held under the honorary patronage of Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister. 
The Process Dynamics and Control Laboratory opened at the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering is an effect of cooperation between the West Pomeranian University of Technology (ZUT) in Szczecin and Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne Police S.A. The cost of the laboratory equipment was EUR 70 thousand.
The facility was created to address the need to educate students in the field of olefin production processes. It will also be used to improve employee qualifications, mainly of PDH Polska S.A., a special purpose vehicle of Grupa Azoty Police, established to construct a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit.
On November 11th 2016, winners of the Polish Quality Award competition, organised by the National Chamber of Commerce, were presented with statuettes at a ceremony held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A. was among the winners, awarded in the ‘Large Production Business’ category.
