Grupa Azoty S.A. at the WallStreet Conference

On June 2nd–June 4th 2017, the Polish Association of Retail Investors held the 21st WallStreet investor conference at Hotel Gołębiewski in Karpacz, Poland. With a few hundred attendees, the event is the largest meeting of retail investors in Central Europe. Grupa Azoty participated in it for the tenth time.
Thematic lectures and meetings (both official and unofficial) were an opportunity for investors to directly contact issuers and advisers. During their three-day convention, numerous retail investors met with representatives of listed companies and key capital market institutions, analysts, and managers to discuss the most important problems and challenges facing the capital market in Poland. As usual, the programme was filled with various lectures and panel discussions, with topics including a model professional approach to both dividend and short-term investing and measures that can be taken to prevent associating stock market investing with aggressive speculation and to promote it as an alternative to bank deposits, earning interest at increasingly disappointing rates.

Part of the event was an awarding ceremony, during which Grupa Azoty S.A. received an award for the highest standard of communication with retail investors it had maintained since its IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The award was accepted on behalf of the Company by Paweł Łapiński, Vice President of the Management Board, who also took part in the discussion panel ‘Power Engines of the Polish Stock Exchange – Future of Economy according to Management of the Largest Polish Companies.’

“The Polish Association of Retail Investors recognises the efforts Grupa Azoty S.A. has made to maintain the highest standard of communication with retail investors since its IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2008. Grupa Azoty’s communication policy has always been transparent and, first of all, active, with due consideration given to the specific needs of this group of market participants. What is also important, the Company has pursued an active information policy regardless of the situation on the market or changes in its Management Board,” said Jarosław Dominiak, President of the Management Board of the Polish Association of Retail Investors, in his award presentation speech.

A few dozen listed companies, including Grupa Azoty, also took part in the ‘My Investments’ trade fair, a regular event accompanying the WallStreet conference. The principal objective of the fair was to enable direct meetings and discussions between company representatives and retail investors.

The Polish Association of Retail Investors (SII), established in 1999, is the largest organisation of retail investors in Poland. The Association offers investors comprehensive support, including protection of their rights, educational initiatives and analyses.
