Grupa Azoty S.A. (Tarnów)

Granulated fertilizer, uniform granules, brown to beige in colour. Covered with anti-caking agents, without permanent caking characteristics. Granules of 2-6 mm, not less than 95% of the mass. Bulk density: 0.98 kg/dm3.
Saletrosan® 26 Makro is a mixture of ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate with the addition of dolomite powder, rich with calcium and magnesium.
The fertilizer includes 26% of nitrogen (N), including 19% in the ammonium form and 7% in the nitrate form. It also includes 13% of sulphur (S) [which constitutes 32.5% calculated per sulphur trioxide (SO3)], soluble in water, in sulphate form.

Intended use and applicationSee more
It is recommended that this fertilizer be used in spring, for top dressing on winter plants, especially on winter rape and winter crops. It is also recommended for use in early spring under all other cultivated plants: spring crops, corn, economic and root plants and in cultivation of vegetables and fruit cultures. Saletrosan® 26 Makro is indispensable in fertilization of crucifer plants (rape, oil-yielding rape, mustard, cabbage, cauliflower, cabbage turnip), leguminous plants, potato, onion, leek, garlic and horseradish. It is very effective on organic soil, especially on grassland. When using Saletrosan® 26 Makro prior to sowing, it is best mixed shallow with soil, and when used for top dressing it is best applied before expected rain. Permanent crops may be fertilized in spring.
On account of its hygroscopicity, Saletrosan® 26 Makro may be mixed immediately before spreading with PODLIDAP®, POLIFOSKA® and POLIMAG® S, and with potash salt, provided that the fertilizers are dry.
AdvantagesSee more
The most important advantage of this fertilizer is the possibility of applying nitrogen and sulphur in spring. Ammonia nitrogen is not washed out of the soil, is absorbed by plants slowly, enhances plant rooting, supports absorption of phosphorus and limits excess absorption of potassium. Fast-release nitrate nitrogen accelerates vegetation of plants soon after application of fertilizer, which means that in spring it accelerates the regeneration of plants following winter inactivation. The high sulphate sulphur content, perfectly soluble in water, increases the immunity of plants and provides them with sulphur early in spring growth. It is important to remember that the largest deficiencies of sulphur in soil occur always in early spring, after it has been washed out of the soil in winter.
Saletrosan® 26 Makro results in good plant rooting, increases plant growth dynamism in early phases of development and improves strength, and is thus a factor in increase in yield and improvement in its quality.
Packaging and transportSee more
Saletrosan® 26 Makro is packaged in:
  • 25 or 50 kg ± 1% polyethylene bags with overprint;
  • Flexible containers at 500 kg ± 1% or more, the so-called big-bags.
The fertilizer must be transported while protected against water, rainfall, direct sunlight and damage to the packaging.
Saletrosan® 26 Makro is not classified, i.e. it is not considered a hazardous material according to the UN Orange Book and international transport codes, for example RID (railway transport), ADR (road transport) and IMDG (sea transport).
With regard to transportation using the road vehicles of the recipient or of a carrier acting on the direct instructions of the recipient, it is the recipient or the carrier who is responsible for any deterioration in the quality of the fertilizer.
StorageSee more
Saletrosan® 26 Makro should be stored in closed, dry, airy and clean spaces, on floors which provide insulation from moisture, away from substances which may react with it. The fertilizer should be protected against moisture and humid air, and stored in big-bags or tightly covered with foil for extended storage. Saletrosan® 26 Makro is highly hygroscopic and failure to observe the appropriate storage conditions may result in loss of granule strength along with emission of larger volumes of fertilizer dust.
Saletrosan® 26 Makro should be protected against:
  • water and rainfall;
  • direct sunlight;
  • mechanical damage to packages;
  • heating above 30°C.
Saletrosan® 26 Makro in bulk may be stored in piles of up to 6 m in height. In the event that fertilizer is stored straight from the production line, a minimum of three days of weathering are necessary before packaging. To protect it against moisture, it is recommended that fertilizer stored in a warehouse in bulk be covered.
Polyethylene bags with overprint of a net content of 25 or 50 kg should be stored in 10 layers at the most. Flexible containers of less than 500 kg in weight may be stored in piles of up to two layers, or in piles of one layer if weight exceeds 500 kg. In the case of pallet storage, loading units should be made of one-layer piles.
PrecautionsSee more

In the event of irritation of skin and eyes, wash with plenty of water. Dust masks and safety goggles are recommended. If swallowed accidentally, seek medical advice. Nontoxic, odourless, non-flammable fertilizer.
