Grupa Azoty and the union of employers Business & Science Poland to advocate in Brussels for the implementation of proposals put forward by the national fertilizer and chemical industry.

In February this year, Grupa Azoty joined Business & Science Poland (BSP), the largest Polish business organization in Brussels, which represents the interests of Polish enterprises and assists in managing regulatory and economic risks. Currently, the main challenges for Grupa Azoty include, among others, gas prices and costs related to CO₂ emissions; these issues will therefore be the primary concerns raised by the Group’s representatives within the framework of its BSP membership.

“This collaboration with BSP opens new opportunities for effective dialogue aimed at fostering understanding and, ultimately, implementing regulations that consider the position of the national fertilizer and chemical industry. We aim to jointly raise awareness of the importance of rationality in introducing new legislative initiatives for an industry that already faces a number of challenges, including decarbonization. Equally critical for us remains the area of regulations concerning market protection tools, notes Hubert Kamola, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. and President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Puławy.

The mission of Business & Science Poland is to support Polish business in effectively shaping EU regulations in line with the interests of the Polish economy.

“Grupa Azoty’s joining of BSP represents an important step in strengthening the unified voice of Polish business in Brussels, especially at a time when a new EU agenda on competitiveness is taking shape. There are many shared interests among energy-intensive industries and beyond. Maintaining a strong position in both the common and global markets requires innovation and the careful shaping of the regulatory environment. I am convinced that this will be an excellent collaboration,” commented Bartek Czyczerski, President of the Management Board of Business & Science Poland.
