In attendance were: Ambassador of Peru Hubert Wieland Conroy, Chargé d’affaires a.i. Gladys García Paredes, Honorary Consul of Peru in Kraków Marcin Mazgaj, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. Grzegorz Kądzielawski and Deputy Head of the Corporate Strategy and Development Department of Grupa Azoty S.A. Wojciech Satora.

It is important to note that in 2021 Peru passed a decree aiming to align local regulations with the requirements and commitments under the European Green Deal. By 2030, Peru aims to achieve significant progress in improving its organic farming quality standards and step up transfers of organic food production technology. Given these challenges, Grupa Azoty was singled out by representatives of the Consulate as a provider of the world’s unique precision farming solutions and products that meet the requirements of the European climate policy.

Mr Ambassador presented an overview of the country’s economic situation and its investment prospects, encouraging Grupa Azoty to increase the scale of investment. Mr Consul emphasised the importance of advancing investment agriculture, which fits perfectly into Peru’s economic policy. The parties agreed on further joint initiatives in the identified areas.

I am confident the solutions available to us are the answer to the challenges facing Peruvian agriculture,’ said Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

Establishing a branch of our subsidiary COMPO EXPERT in Peru proves that we recognise the potential of the Peruvian market. New potential areas for collaboration emerged during today’s meeting, and we are ready to seize the opportunity to expand our Agro business in this promising market. Internationally, we are recognised as a supplier of end-to-end farming solutions, not just fertilizers. And this is the growth path we are going to follow,’ said dr Grzegorz Kądzielawski, Vice President of the Grupa Azoty S.A. Management Board.

Satellite-based crop monitoring service is one of the precision farming solutions offered by Grupa Azoty. With a mobile or fixed application, users can monitor the current status of their crops, have access to meteorological data, but above all can plan the right fertilisation strategy, thus maximising financial performance of their farms. Grupa Azoty expects the recently established business relationship with Microsoft will help to step up development of its precision farming tool, gaining access to cloud solutions and opportunities to establish new partnerships in precision farming. Joint analysis of precise satellite images will enable Grupa Azoty to equip its system with innovative features that are nowhere else to be found on the market today. Also, the company is working on a state-of-the-art information and service platform to integrate its projects into one comprehensive offering.

The meeting of representatives of Grupa Azoty with representatives of the Republic of Peru was held on May 17th 2022 at Willa Eugeniusza Kwiatkowskiego in Tarnów.
