Grupa Azoty identifies projects in renewable ammonia

Grupa Azoty Puławy has signed a Letter of Intent with Skłodowski sp. z o.o., signaling its interest in collaboration on renewable ammonia, which is planned to be produced at Skłodowski’s production facility.

Skłodowski’s project involves constructing a small-scale renewable ammonia production facility in the Olecko district of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The facility will include an electrolysis system to produce hydrogen powered exclusively by renewable energy sources, including a photovoltaic farm and wind turbines. The investment will involve project and construction companies from the Puławy Capital Group, such as PROZAP, with whom Skłodowski has already initiated discussions.

“Skłodowski’s investment plans are a bold initiative within our geographic range and align with the new RED III regulations. From a regulatory perspective, we are interested in working with trade partners offering long-term supply and sales of renewable ammonia. Ahead of us lies the task of defining the technical, logistical, and financial conditions for potential collaboration. This project will be evaluated based on costs, compliance with climate policy goals, and competitiveness. From the many green hydrogen projects currently in Europe, this is another one to add to the list,” said Hubert Kamola, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Puławy and Vice President of Grupa Azoty S.A..

Grupa Azoty is currently working on updating its Strategy, including the Decarbonization Plan. As part of its future decarbonization projects, the Group is considering partnerships with potential collaborators, including Skłodowski sp. z o.o.
