Grupa Azoty PKCh has filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office alleging that a former board member committed offenses resulting in significant financial harm to the company. The complaint alleges abuse of authority and misappropriation of company funds for personal use, unrelated to company activities, amounting to no less than PLN 283,000.
The report includes numerous high-cost expenditures at luxury spas, with single visits costing up to tens of thousands of złotys, and multiple purchases of spa goods valued at over twenty thousand złotys each. These goods were neither used in Grupa Azoty PKCh’s operations nor recorded in the company’s inventory.
These actions were taken during a period when Grupa Azoty PKCh was implementing a cost-saving program to address record losses reported by Grupa Azoty since Q4 2022.
As recommended by the Grupa Azoty S.A. Management Board, audits are currently underway within the Capital Group, examining the operations of its companies over recent years. The audits are related to record losses incurred since Q4 2022, ineffective corrective actions, executed investments, and various contractual agreements.
As a result of these audits, Grupa Azoty has filed initial complaints with the prosecutor's office involving matters related to the Polish National Foundation, sponsorship and advertising contracts at Grupa Azoty S.A., sponsorship and advertising contracts at Grupa Azoty Puławy, non-compete agreements with Grupa Azoty S.A. board members and management (directors), and a non-compete agreement with a former president of the Chemik Police club. In the coming days, Grupa Azoty intends to take similar actions in other areas.
