Grupa Azoty to organise summer camp for children affected by Nowa Biała fire

Grupa Azoty S.A. has declared it would provide support to residents affected by the Nowa Biała fire by organising and funding a summer camp for their children. The summer camp will run from late July to early August, with 25 children invited to participate. Detailed arrangements are being made with the Kraków Provincial Office and the Kraków Education Authority.

Grupa Azoty runs summer camps for children of its employees every year as part of its CSR programme, which allowed it to quickly come up with an offer to help children from Nowa Biała.

‘A large group of children are among the victims of the fire in Nowa Biała. I resolved to take action with the children in mind. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wanted state-owned companies to engage in the effort. I would like to thank Grupa Azoty for their quick response and a very tangible offer to help. It’s vital that we work together to help children from Nowa Biała to take their minds off the difficult situation they are facing. I believe the summer camp organised by Grupa Azoty will help them recover from the trauma. We have taken every effort to help residents of Nowa Biała to return to normal as quickly as possible, regain a sense of security, and rebuild their houses that were burnt down in the fire. I would like to thank all those who showed their deep empathy and solidarity in this difficult situation,’ said Łukasz Kmita, Kraków Provincial Governor.

It has been agreed the summer camp in the seaside town of Darłówko on the Baltic coast will be attended by children and youth aged 18 or younger.

‘I’m confident that with the efficient relief efforts coordinated by the Provincial Governor and the Kraków Provincial Office, all victims of the Nowa Biała fire are receiving the much needed help. As Grupa Azoty, we will do our best to put a smile back on the faces of children affected by the fire,’ said Tomasz Hinc, President of the Grupa Azoty Management Board.
