POLICE LOGISTICS HUB – A new growth engine for the port, industry, and region

On June 30, 2025, Grupa Azoty Police hosted the launch event for the POLICE Logistics Hub, an initiative focused on the expansion of the Port of Police and the creation of a modern logistics base to serve the needs of industry and the broader region. The event brought together government officials, infrastructure and energy company executives, business partners, academic representatives, media, and industry experts.

During the event, in the presence of key stakeholders, investment agreements were signed concerning the development of rail infrastructure, energy supply, and future offshore-related projects. At the heart of the initiative are plans to construct a modern rail junction and a new rail line (Line No. 437) connecting directly to the Port of Police, as well as infrastructure to ensure secure energy supply in partnership with Enea.

‘The POLICE Logistics Hub is a direct response to the growing logistical needs of both Grupa Azoty and the broader region. Our aim is to build a modern distribution and cargo handling center that will drive development across Western Pomerania. The Port of Police has enormous potential — we intend to fully harness it, transforming the port into a critical link in the supply chain for the chemical, industrial, and energy sectors,’ said Andrzej Dawidowski, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. and President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Police.

‘The expansion of the Port of Police is not just a local project — it's a key element in enhancing the competitiveness of ports across the Baltic coast. Our objective is to make Police a regional leader in handling gas, liquid, and bulk cargo. We will increase cargo throughput and open the port to new trade corridors. We’re building the port of the future — flexible, rail-integrated, technologically advanced, and environmentally sustainable,’ said Dariusz Budzik, President of the Management Board of Morski Port Police.

A core component of the project is the modernization of rail infrastructure, including the construction of the dedicated Line 437, which will provide efficient connection of the port with the national transportation network.

‘Through cooperation with Grupa Azoty and the Port of Police, we are creating real logistical opportunities in the western part of the country. The new rail line is a key factor in improving transport efficiency and reducing delivery times,’ said Marcin Mochocki, Vice President of PKP S.A. and Management Board Member of PKP PLK responsible for investment projects at Polish State Railways.

The event also served as a platform for strengthening cooperation with the energy sector. Enea Group—one of the region’s key energy providers—expressed its commitment to ensuring electricity supply for new investment areas at the Port of Police, mostly from renewable energy sources.‘Today’s signing of a letter of intent between Enea and Grupa Azoty reflects a shared commitment to building a modern, secure, and sustainable energy backbone for the developing investment zones at the Port of Police. This partnership is of particular importance to us — both in terms of scale and the opportunities it unlocks. Grupa Azoty is a pillar of Poland’s chemical industry, and the Port of Police is emerging as one of the key logistics hubs in this part of Europe. For Enea — as an energy supplier and active player in the energy transition — this is an ideal space to deploy innovative energy solutions,’ said Grzegorz Kinelski, President of Enea.
