On August 12th, Grupa Azoty’s registered office in Tarnów hosted the departure of stage 4 of the Tour de Pologne, from Tarnów to Bukovina Resort. This is the first stage of this year’s race in which the riders have to negotiate a distance shorter than 200 kilometres. Among those who attended the event were Czesław Lang, the organiser of this most prestigious cycling race in Poland, and Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.
Tour de Pologne departed from Lublin on August 9th and will arrive in Kraków on August 15th with a total of 1,140 kilometres to be covered by the cyclists in seven stages.
“Tour de Pologne is one of the most important sports events in Poland. We feel immensely privileged that the honorary start of the fourth stage of the race sets off from Grupa Azoty’s Head Office in Tarnów. I am glad that thanks to our joint efforts, after a seven-year break, Tarnów once again plays host to Tour de Pologne,” saidTomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.
“I’m very happy that Grupa Azoty has become a sponsor of our race. Tour de Pologne is an exciting sporting event that also promotes Poland and cycling as a sport. Our partnership with Grupa Azoty has brought the race to Tarnów this year, which is a great joy to us,” admitted event organiser Czesław Lang.
This year’s Tour de Pologne is the 78th edition of the prestigious cycling race, featuring 19 of the world’s top teams and three teams given ‘wild cards’ by the organisers. Poland’s national team is among them.
