ORLEN Group is considering increasing participation in fertilizer sector in Poland

The ORLEN Group is analysing a possible acquisition of Zakłady Azotowe  Puławy owned by Grupa Azoty S.A. The companies have signed a cooperation agreement  and a non-disclosure agreement enabling due diligence to start at the Puławy-based company. The merger would increase the ORLEN Group’s participation in the fertilizer sector and enhance its efficiency and competitiveness on the European market through numerous synergies. For farmers and other customers of the two companies, the merger would mean a better and broader range of fertilizer products  and easier access to products in demand at a given time, achieved through enhanced production flexibility.

Plastics Day at Grupa Azoty

The Plastics Day was an event held in front of the Grupa Azoty Group’s headquarters in Tarnów on June 1st. During the event, Company representatives demonstrated a range of exhibits to illustrate how plastics have changed over years and how they influenced various areas, including the automotive, medical, and defence industries. The event attracted a total turnout of several hundred, including children, students and residents of Tarnów.

Grupa Azoty requests waiver of selected terms of financing agreements

In view of the potential risk of breaching the net debt/EBITDA ratio at the end of the first half of 2023 by exceeding the maximum levels allowed under Grupa Azoty Group’s financing agreements, as announced by the Company in a current report of May 15th 2023, the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. has entered into talks with the financial institutions on this issue.

Grupa Azoty was among the signatories of a letter of intent to develop Polish ion cell technology, signed at the initiative of the Ministry of Climate and Environment. According to the document, creating a complete and sustainable ion cell value chain relying on domestic raw material resources would help enhance energy security and preserve the strategic competitiveness of the national economy.

Grupa Azoty Group’s results impacted by supply-demand imbalance in European market

In the three months ended March 31st 2023, the Grupa Azoty Group generated consolidated revenue of PLN 3,895m, EBITDA of PLN -401m, and EBITDA margin of -10.3%. The financial results are in line with the estimates published by the Company on May 15th 2023.
