Further to the news of a sudden halt in Russian gas supplies to Poland, Grupa Azoty announces that the Group companies receive natural gas under a contract with Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. Poland has technical capabilities to source gas from various directions, e.g. through system interconnectors on its western and southern borders and via the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. The mix is supplemented by domestically produced gas and volumes withdrawn from gas storage facilities, where Poland has accumulated substantial stocks.
In 2021, the Grupa Azoty Group posted consolidated revenue of PLN 15.90bn (up PLN 5.38bn year on year), EBITDA of PLN 1.95bn (up PLN 624m year on year), and EBITDA margin of 12.2% (down 0.4pp year on year). Net profit in 2021 reached PLN 634m, having increased by PLN 279m year on year. The largest contribution to consolidated EBITDA earned by the Grupa Azoty Group in the fourth quarter of 2021 was made by the Chemicals segment, which posted its best performance on record.
Grupa Azoty Puławy was among the winners of the second edition of the Decarbonisation Initiatives Ranking organised by the PTWP Group. The Ranking presents the most interesting, imaginative and effective initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The results were officially announced on April 25th 2022 during the European Economic Congress in Katowice. On behalf of the Grupa Azoty Group, the award was collected by Filip Grzegorczyk, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. The Ranking leaders were selected by the Board of the ‘Green Index’ campaign, consisting of representatives of environmental protection institutions, organisations and experts.
The Grupa Azoty Group and the Mościce Housing Estate Council joined in the celebration of the Earth Day by organising a campaign called “Collect and Segregate”. During the event, green areas within the Mościce housing estate were cleaned up by some several hundred people – the residents, Grupa Azoty Group employees, preschool children, and students of primary and secondary schools.
On Monday April 25th 2022, the Parliamentary Group for Enterprise Development and Support and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture are hosting a free webinar for farmers. The event will be held under the patronage of the Chancellery of the Polish Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk. The Grupa Azoty Group, which regularly provides farmers with key information on current trends in fertilizer application, has become a partner of the webinar.
Grupa Azoty S.A. has donated sports equipment worth over PLN 60 thousand to further primary schools in the Tarnów county, including over 500 pieces of sportswear, 500 basketballs, volleyballs and footballs and 500 training bibs.
