The Art of Creating Music

DJing is a profession that requires commitment and a love of music. In today's interview, we are pleased to introduce you to an extremely talented and passionate artist, a legend of the club music scene in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. His sets are a real journey through various music genres, and his ability to create a unique atmosphere on the dance floor has earned him a legion of devoted fans. For 12 years, he was also responsible for the musical setting during the matches of the most successful volleyball club in Poland, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Our interviewee is Sebastian Drobny, senior foreman at the OXO department of the Oxoplast Business Unit of Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn. And when the well-deserved weekend comes, he fires up the console as DJ Seba'stian and gets the dance floor red hot.

Set 1. The beginning
My adventure with DJing began like it does for every DJ, I guess. I just went to clubs as a customer, watched and listened to how others played. Earlier, as a child, I started making tapes at home to mix music, I went to school discos, so from an early age I was drawn to it.

At one point, the Tunel club in Koźle was looking for a DJ. My friend, who was the manager there, asked if I would like to give it a try. Every now and then, someone would play there, but there was no permanent DJ, so I took on the challenge. And so, slowly, it started to take off. Week after week, more and more people came to party, and then it exceeded our expectations, with crowds of people and parties until dawn.

Set 2. Inspiration and creation
First of all, I listen to a lot of music. That's the basis. I like R&B, old hip-hop, funk, and of course modern music. I come from an alternative music background, so I'm different from most DJs playing in clubs. I try to sneak in a little rock, funk, or older music into my sets. I prepare for the event at home. In every free moment in the evening, I catalog music, select it in the right mood, and arrange it in a folder, and then, while playing, inspiration comes from the people partying in the club or at events.

Set 3. Challenge
My biggest challenge was playing at the ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle match in the Champions League in the hall in Gliwice - in front of eight thousand spectators. It's always a challenge for me to play in a new place and get the audience into my music. Recently, such a place has been the Kameleon club near the train station in Kędzierzyn, where you can currently hear me most often and where there is a very cool audience.

Set 4. Satisfaction
Generally, I have always been most inspired by the local community, my friends whom I met in local clubs. I like to enjoy seeing how people have fun, how happy they are that evening, and that's the coolest thing about DJing. Currently, I have regular places to play, and this stability suits me best.
