Chemik Police Volleyball Club, in which Grupa Azoty Capital Group indirectly holds 100% of the shares, has filed a criminal complaint against its former president. The complaint alleges that the former president, responsible for managing the club's assets, abused his authority and failed to fulfill his duties, resulting in significant financial damage estimated at PLN 227,000. The alleged crime falls under Article 296 of the Polish Penal Code.
This compaint follows an independent audit conducted in line with the recommendations of the Grupa Azoty Management Board and the Club’s new Supervisory Board. The audit revealed that in recent years, the club signed employment contracts for which there was no evidence of actual work being performed.
These fictitious contracts involved marketing and organizational roles, yet there is no documentation proving the employees carried out their duties. One employee was only seen at the club once, and another left no records of completing organizational tasks. The responsibility for these contracts rested with the former president of the Management Board.
Currently, based on recommendations from the Board, audits are being conducted across the entire capital group with a focus on the operations of its subsidiaries. They were initiated in response to significant financial losses since Q4 2022 and the lack of effective corrective measures. As a result, the company has already filed its first complaints to the prosecutor’s office, including concerns over the Polish National Foundation and non-compete agreements.
Grupa Azoty Police is affiliated with the company KPS “Chemik Police” S.A. through the “Grupa Azoty Police Foundation for the Development of Volleyball,” which indirectly holds full ownership of the company.
