The Polish Chemical Industry Congress is one of the most important chemical industry events in Poland, providing a forum for discussion and sharing of expertise in technological solutions, innovative concepts and strategies, implementation of capex projects, process safety, innovation, and the impact of the legal and economic environment on the industry.

Grupa Azoty was represented at the Congress by Józef Rojek, Vice President of the Management Board, who participated in the debate ‘Polish chemical industry in the globalisation era – position, prospects and challenges.’ When asked about the key elements of the Company’s strategy designed to address the challenges presented by the market, he said: “The key element of our strategy is consolidation of the Grupa Azoty Group companies. Consolidation still offers considerable potential for additional benefits to the Group. We are going to continue integrating our processes and key functions, including trade, procurement, logistics, finance and IT.”

Grupa Azoty also hosted a sports panel ‘Business and sports or how to be in shape for success’. The discussion was facilitated by Sebastian Szczęsny, a sports journalist from the Polish Public Television. The speakers included Apoloniusz Tajner, President of the Polish Ski Association, Adam Małysz, Coordinating Director of the Polish Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined National Team at the Polish Ski Association, Dawid Kubacki, a world champion in team ski jumping, and Maciej Kot, a World Championship gold and bronze medallist in team ski jumping events.

The Polish Chemical Industry Congress has been held in partnership with Grupa Azoty throughout all of its four editions.

The Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry, the organiser of the Congress, has a membership of close to 130 chemical producers, other companies operating in the chemical sector, and R&D entities. It is tasked with protecting and enhancing the competitive position of the Polish chemical industry across both domestic and international markets. The Chamber is Poland’s sole representative in the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC).
