On September 16th 2022, representatives of Grupa Azoty met with senior executives of Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd., the general contractor on the Polimery Police project. During the meeting, participants discussed the progress of construction works at the new complex and gas terminal.
At the meeting Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. was represented by President of the Management Board Hong Hyun Sung, Vice President of the Management Board Lim Gawn Sup and Directors Choi Ji Hun and Son Jung Ho. Grupa Azoty S.A. was represented by President of the Management Board Tomasz Hinc, Vice Presidents Grzegorz Kądzielawski and Mariusz Grab and the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A.
The meeting addressed challenges related to the commissioning of the new complex and its handover to Grupa Azoty Polyolefins. Further collaboration with Hyundai Engineering on other strategic projects planned by Grupa Azoty was also discussed.
Polimery Police is Grupa Azoty’s new petrochemical complex comprising a propylene dehydrogenation unit and a polypropylene production unit with an annual capacity of up to 437 thousand tonnes. The two key units have been designed using state-of-the-art technology for great production flexibility and ability to produce a wide range of various polypropylene types. The project also includes a handling and storage terminal at Grupa Azoty’s Police port, enabling imports by sea of the necessary feedstocks: propane and ethylene.
As at the end of August 2022, the Polimery Police project was over 96% complete.
