Grupa Azoty S.A., on behalf of itself, Grupa Azoty Puławy, and Grupa Azoty Police, has signed a Letter of Intent with Orlen. This document initiates a strategic analysis of potential transactions in the polymers segment, with a particular focus on Grupa Azoty Polyolefins. The analysis will also cover caprolactam and polyamide 6 production and sales, as well as the seaport in Gdańsk owned by Grupa Azoty Fosfory. This Letter of Intent is part of Grupa Azoty’s ongoing Strategic Business Review project. Importantly, the Letter of Intent does not cover the fertilizer sector, which remains Grupa Azoty's core business.
"In parallel with corrective actions and cost optimizations, we are conducting numerous discussions and analyses to develop Grupa Azoty's future business model. The decision to sign the Letter of Intent with Orlen followed a thorough review of business opportunities. Orlen is one of our most important commercial partners," said Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. "One of our key goals is the full commercial launch of the Polimery Police investment. Our analyses conducted since spring confirm the validity of seeking a business partner for this project. For several weeks, we have been openly discussing this possibility, and now, together with Orlen, we will explore potential synergies," Leszkiewicz added.
During the term of the Letter of Intent, both parties will focus on identifying potential areas for further collaboration.
