This purchase of a key raw material for fertilizer production is part of cost optimization efforts in response to the rising costs of in-house ammonia production. Producing one ton of ammonia requires at least 950 m³ of natural gas, making its production increasingly expensive. Grupa Azoty's Police plant is home to Poland’s only ammonia transshipment terminal, which is continuously adapted to meet current and future supply demands. The project utilizing the Police port for ammonia imports is one of the initiatives within the AZOTY BUSINESS Program.
